GET CREATIVE WITH GUPPY POSE
The Purpose of Guppy Pose:
Encouraging the front of the body and neck to open up and release tension - especially helpful if baby has body tension or oral ties.
Creating space in the neck and shoulders.
Get the tongue moving for better feeding and proper oral resting posture.
The goal with Guppy Pose is to see the front of the chin and neck extend open. The shoulders stretch down, away from the head. You can see how this looks with more examples in my At-Home Bodywork Highlight on Instagram.
Some babies love the Guppy, others take a while to warm up to it. Every baby is different so work with your baby where they are at. There's no rush. Just patience - offering daily opportunity to soften and open up little by little. They’ll start to enjoy it as they realize how good it feels!
With newborns or babies with minimal neck and head control, make sure to support the back of the head and neck when doing Guppy Pose.

Extra Tips to Make It Fun
Use a mirror (hand-held or bathroom mirror).
Try a new environment (get outside, or a place with lots of activity and things to watch).
Use a rattle toy or something (or someone) they love to catch their attention.
Instead of their entire body arching back in a C shape, support their bottom in a sitting position then help them bend their upper body back.
