Daily bodywork movements have been part of the huge transforms I’ve witnessed in both of my babies. It has helped to release body tension, build strength, reach milestones, integrate reflexes, support sleep, as well as promote bonding and brain development. It worked really well in conjunction with any professional bodywork that we did. I highly recommend a few sessions with a professional bodyworker. Almost like “maintenance” in-between sessions. Releasing tension has helped my babies with feeding and mobility (both of the mouth and body). Babies with ties (released or not), body tension, and torticollis can benefit so much from these exercises!
A rhythm that worked well for us was to do several different movements daily. I’ve never had a set amount of time, or a certain order. I chose what felt right for my baby and started with movements that they liked best. I continued to offer and retry movements that were more difficult or they didn’t seem to like as much. I would keep the mood light and fun - always listening to their cues when they were ready to stop.
THE VIDEOS
Special thanks to the professionals that allowed me include their content for your convenience. They have provided so much helpful educational content on YouTube and given permission to link to their videos.
Guppy Pose Support
If your baby struggles to enjoy Guppy Pose (part of Whole-Body Support), these videos are for you! It was really hard to do Guppy with my son. I had to get creative with lots of different ways of doing it. It’s now something he loves! I created this unique series to make it fun for both of you.
Oral Function Support
If your baby has trouble feeding, you suspect they have ties, you were told there were “mild ties”, ties were officially diagnosed, or a release has already been done… start here.
Whole Body Support will be needed too - because everything is tied together. ;)
Whole-Body Support
Daily movements for tension release, milestones and brain boosting. These are the stretches and exercises that started it all for me and my daughter. All of my favorites are in here.
